Collaboration

I’m always in need of helping hands, be it for building structures, editing textures, creating new 3D models, player skins or even just playtesting! Here’s a list of the people that have helped me so far:

FabianM…
…was the first collaborator of this project. Back in 2012 we were building the TerminaCraft map together. Fabian built many wonderful structures, such as Stone Tower Temple, the Moon, the Goron Race Tracks, Twinmold and many others. Fabian also helped recently with editing textures, such as the new cool item hotbar, and playtested many features of the map!

Skittles
…couldn’t help but make a lot of suggestions while I was building on stream. I noticed that they had way better ideas than me for some builds, which quickly granted them a place as a builder! Skittles made tons of amazing skins and built almost all of Clock Towns building interiors!

KirbyCarden
…is an amazing Minecraft modeler, and created tons of models such as Link’s different instruments, new milk bottles and even new masks!

IdeallyKafei
…is a talented programmer, who is now working on the Denizen part of the server with me. I learnt a lot about developing in this new language thanks to his help!

SillyBones
…started collaborating by coming up with great new ideas on how to make my programs work. They eventually began to break a lot of things on the server and finding bugs in my work – since then SillyBones got the title of play tester! It’s always fun to come up with new mechanics and debug problems with the help of Sillybones.

MimineStudio
…is a 3D modeler, and made many models for TerminaCraft, such as Masks, Deku Flowers and even the Deku Butler!

Saji
…is also a 3D modeler working alongside MimineStudio, and created various cool 3D models for the TerminaCraft!

Zeldaboy14
…is an incredibly talented assembly programmer, who doesn’t shy away from looking into the depths of the original game’s code to unveil new secrets hidden within Majora’s Mask. Thanks to his work I am able to make TerminaCraft an even more faithful recreation of the game.

Linebeck
…is a talented Java programmer, who is making his own Zelda related Minecraft server, called HyruleCraft. Linebeck is great at making plugins, and has generously offered to share his creations with TerminaCraft. His latest plugin enables players to roll around like a Goron!

CinDoesArt
…is an artist and a fellow map maker, creating his own Zelda-themed adventure map for Minecraft, all in vanilla! Cin helped me a lot figuring out vanilla commands, and is always willing to lend a hand when it comes to solving problems.

Koa Neuva
…is the original author of the Majora’s Craft resource pack. The TerminaCraft resource pack is heavily based on his work. Thanks a lot to Koa for his initial step of bringing Termina to Minecraft!

Topaz, Enderjora, SillyHorseradish
…are an integral part of the TerminaCraft team and help me out with various tasks such as playtesting or creating new textures!

Do you want to join us?

I’m always in need of some helping hands. Many people have already reached out, asking me what they could do. Below is a list of tasks I need help with, along with an explanation of my expectations for the task. If you think you’re up for the task, send me a few examples of your work in the Discord channel or send an e-.mail to lupus@terminacraft.com.

Denizen Scripting

Denizen is a scripting language for Minecraft. Recently, I have decided to porting all of the code of TerminaCraft to Denizen. My former methods induced a lot of lag and were quite non-modular, which is why my current focus is to create stable, well-tested frameworks facilitating the addition of new features on the fly. One such example is the current region-loading framework: The data of each region is stored in a separate file, and is loaded on the go when a player enters this region.
If you’re interested in helping me out in the Denizen scripting part, send me some code examples and reach out to me, that way I can explain in detail how I’m imagining TerminaCraft to work.

3D Modelling (+ Animation)

Terminacraft uses 3D models created with Blockbench for a variety of things, such as custom blocks, but also more detailed furniture. I also intend to recreate all of the non-human-like mobs in Blockbench and animate them. Having someone who is versed with animated Java would be a huge help. Other tasks would include creating 3D models of all of the masks found in the game, as well as Link’s different transformations.
If you’re interested in helping me out in the modelling part, send me a few of your recent works.

Building

The whole map is being rebuilt. We have the interior of clock town already done, but are planning to continue rebuilding the whole rest of the map. The map was built back in 2013, so a lot of new features have not been implemented. I am furthermore looking to add more details to the map with the use of custom models. The most important thing for the building part is that it should be on a 1:1 scale, with 1 step of link being roughly one block in Minecraft, and Link’s height being approximately one block. We are building the N64 version, not the 3DS version. If you want to help on the building part, send me a build of a part of Majora’s Masks map using the TerminaCraft resource pack.

Playtesting

Currently I have enough people for testing multiplayer features. Please reach out in the helper Discord channel if you want to test the early beta version.

Content Creation

I would like to make better videos and publish small updates of the maps progress. If you’d like to help make TerminaCraft famous by creating posts, short videos and hosting cool events, let me know.

Sound Development

TerminaCraft uses Note Block versions of the Majora’s Mask OST. Most of the tracks are currently based on midi files, but not all of the games OST can be found in midi form, and some midis do not have the quality I would have hoped for. Reach out if you are familiar with Note Block Studio and music theory and want to create a cool soundtrack for TerminaCraft.
